Information you record

Backpackers Money (BPM) records the information you enter: employers and roles, pay rates and withholding settings, shifts, breaks and notes, payslip details, payment receipts, expenses, cash balances, savings goals, and visa and work-history information. Payslip details are entered manually; this version does not upload payslip documents.

Local storage and sync

Your working records and preferences are saved in this browser’s local storage for this site. There is no account or automatic cloud synchronisation, and the current record-saving and backup functions do not send your financial records to an application server. Other browsers, devices, site addresses or installed-app storage may have separate records. Support cannot retrieve a lost local dataset from the hosting service.

Manual backups and recovery

In Settings, export a JSON backup and check that the downloaded file is available in Files or Downloads outside BPM. It contains your records, so keep it private and secure. Restore reads a file you select on your device, validates it and shows a preview. Only your confirmation replaces the current records. A copy of the previous dataset is retained locally and can be downloaded using the recovery option. CSV exports are reports, not complete restorable backups. BPM does not create automatic external backups.

Deletion and data loss

Clearing site storage, losing your device or removing browser/app data can erase your records. In Settings, Reset all data replaces the active records with an empty dataset; it does not remove an existing recovery copy or all browser flags. To remove all data held by this site, also clear its site data in your browser or device settings, including installed-app storage where separate. Delete any exported files separately. Restore can recover records only from a valid backup you still have. Make and verify a backup before resetting or changing devices.

Pay and calculation estimates

Gross and net income, tax withholding, super and savings projections are estimates based on your records and settings. Manual withholding can differ from your employer’s actual deductions. BPM does not replace an official payslip or professional tax advice. Confirm actual payments against your payslip and bank/payment documentation. Visa progress is also an estimate, not confirmation of eligibility; check with Home Affairs.

Hosting, fonts and technical information

The site is published through Lovable hosting. The hosting and delivery infrastructure processes web requests, which can include IP addresses, browser/device information, requested URLs and technical logs. The current published site also includes platform-provided usage and error-reporting scripts: these can process page visits, navigation/referrer information, performance and error details. Cookies from the hosting/delivery infrastructure were observed on the published site. BPM also uses local and session storage for preferences, installation notices and recovery, and a service worker caches application files for offline use. Local financial storage does not mean that browsing creates no technical data.

Google Fonts supplies Sora and Manrope through fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Loading these fonts sends Google a web request, including your IP address and browser request information. Following external links opens the relevant provider’s site under its own privacy practices. The exact hosting/analytics providers, retention periods, access arrangements and applicable consent requirements need operator review; this notice does not make a blanket no-cookie, no-collection or no-sharing claim.

Privacy and support contact

For privacy questions, deletion guidance or support, use the email below. If you email us, your message and attachments are processed through Gmail (Google) and can be accessed by the person handling your request. Do not send sensitive payroll, identity documents or a full backup unless necessary and agreed. Information already sent by email is not removed by resetting BPM.
